Reading is set in a beautiful location in Berkshire. It is blessed with being a large buzzing town that is also set around countryside, and it well placed for London and Oxford. Reading is home to the National Trust Basildon Park - an old and beautiful mansion - and its town hall Museum is home to history and artefacts of its Saxon past.

The closeness of the River Thames makes it very easy for visitors and residents alike to take in the charm of this historic town, and boating, cruising and watersporting holidays are popular from here. One can head up the River and visit traditional country style pubs and take in the stunning and quaint riverside Villages, or try out angling - as well as being more adventurous where lots do try the exciting experience of water skiing. As well as the conveniently placed Rivers, the natural trails here ( Ridgeway National Trails and the Thames Path ) offer short and longer walks to discover more of Reading than is apparent when staying or residing near the town centre, and providing options to take leisurely meanders or more challenging walks around this picturesque town.

The transport links in Reading have meant lots of people and families have relocated here, a fast train to London can take just 25 minutes and the M4 motorway provides easy access to surrounding towns. The University of Reading is a good open source which welcomes learners old and new, and of course is a great place to work. Due to its size, the town of Reading has its share of well known high street recruiters that focus on vacancies of variety from admin, call centre, finance, engineering, transport etc.

Reading is not a fast paced place like London though it does offer a buzz, nightlife, history and a good balance of work and home can be achieved because of its location near the countyside and its things to do, moving here is something lots of people do to achieve that balance.
