Finding A Job In Coventry

Despite its well recorded unattractiveness you may be surprise to find that Coventry has a steeped and varied medieval history and popular industries involved in its past are the motor industry, the watch making industry and the cloth trade involving silk ribbon weaving, tailoring and its wool industry. The City became what was considered as a large town in the early 1800's and around the 1840's it became a part of Warwickshire for what we believe may be the second time in its existence then incorporated into the West Midlands in the 1970's.

With around 300,000 occupants and being the 11th largest City in the UK, the sheer size of the City of Coventry allows for countless recruitment agencies some of which specialise in varying industries. Where the city may lack in beautiful surroundings the more recent investments have provided it with a number of squares and appealing gardens and the City is full of vitality with tourist hustle and bustle wherever you go. As a visitor or tourist in Coventry you may be interested in some popular walks, an inner city farm, a large number of popular landmarks as well as museums, art galleries and canals for those romantics.

In terms of recruitment, you will find the usual high street agencies such as Pertemps (New Union Street), Office Angels on Cross Cheaping, Manpower on Trinity Street and Adecco (Albert Street in Rugby) though you will also find the more local agencies such as those offering working roles with major employers such as the Uni and the Coventry Council.

Working at Coventry University is hugely appealing should you wish to find roles in the education sector. With their recent massive spend on improvements to the Uni and excellent packages for employees who can of course work in administrative and clerical roles, academic or technical posts. Apply for posts directly to Coventry University, you can find details on the application process here. TheFutureWorks also is based on the University campus.

Alternatively you can contact Coventry Council for jobs in the education industry, they have a large jobs section on their website and of course being the largest employer in the City have job adverts for a number of roles alternative to the usual admin, office and warden roles.

Bilton Industrial Estate is home to a number of hi tech firms such as IT and communications.  Most of your high street recruiters in Coventry can be found covering this sector among others, including Michael Page, Adecco, Hays and Brook Street as well as the more local agencies such as BMS (specialising in sales and marketing), Angels Childcare Recruitment (found on The Quadrant) and E PPL (found in the Binley area, CV3) who specialise in filling vacancies with the Business Services industry.

Coventry is a large city and has lots to offer in the way of recruitment. With the slow rise in jobs available now is the right time to make contact and supply your CV details to agencies within your chosen area.
