Employment In Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire is one of the most beautiful of England's counties and is home to the Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The county town of Buckinghamshire is Aylesbury, with Milton Keynes and High Wycombe fulfilling the roles of the largest towns in the county. As well as being a delightful county to live in, Buckinghamshire is also an excellent place to find work, and job seekers based here, have a wealth of different industries they can examine for employment opportunities.

Buckinghamshire is part of the NUTS-2 region along with Oxfordshire and Berkshire, and in 2002 was the seventh richest sub-region within the European community. Not only are there ample employment opportunities for job seekers within the boundaries of the county, but it is also within easy commuting distance of London, with all of the capitol's potential for employment right on its doorstep.

The town of High Wycombe is well known for its furniture industry, and apprenticeship opportunities are available for job hunters looking to take up carpentry and joinery as a profession; but Buckinghamshire as a county is perhaps better known for its more recent expansion into the hi-tech service and support industry, particularly in and around new town, Milton Keynes, which has at last now lost its image of concrete cows, and is now being recognised for being what it is, a new town with a new approach to economic and social development, and that is one  of the reasons that makes Buckinghamshire a great county to live in, and in which to seek employment, particularly in the hi-tech jobs marketplace.

Recruitment agencies such as CV Screen who have offices nationwide and GSA Technical are very active across all employment sectors and they both field a wide variety of opportunities in the hi-tech end of the market.

Buckinghamshire is renowned for its new enterprise culture (it is often referred to as the entrepreneurial heart of Britain), and registers a higher than average number of new business start ups every year; excellent news for job hunters. But as well as the bubbling service industry sector, and vibrant industrial sector, (which in itself employs up to 1 in 10 of the county's work force), it also has a very large and active public business and service sector, (incorporating the health industry), all contributing to an overall economy valued at £5.6 billion.

Morgan REM of Aylesbury is an excellent agency, based on Walton Grove, for job hunters to register with in regard to opportunities in industry and engineering, and Sky Personnel, ( another Aylesbury based agency found on Buckingham Street ), feature jobs in the commercial sector, as well as engineering and industry.

One thing is for sure; with over 10,000 active businesses registered in the county, and famous national institutions such as Silverstone Motorbike Racing, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, and the celebrated Pinewood studios, (not forgetting of course the natural beauty of The Chilterns, Aylesbury Vale, and The River Thames), Buckinghamshire is a county of delight and abundant opportunity for job hunters. Alternative agencies based in the Buckinghamshire areas are Phoenix Healthcare & Recruitment on Market Square, who of course cover temporary, permanent and contract roles within the healthcare industry, another being Barbara Barnes Appointments, a smaller more personal agency, found off the Market Place in Kingsbury.
