Wanted Hardworking, Loyal, 168 Hours A Week, 211,000 - 435,000 pa, Answers To...Mum With Mother’s Day just around the corner, many will be looking to buy their mum something wonderful for that extra special day. www.HireScores.com, the UK’s only recruitment agency review site, has looked into the jobs that mothers do without charging for it.The site surveyed nearly 1,500 people to see which jobs they appreciated their mums doing for them on a regular basis and then looked into just how much money they could earn a year if they were to charge for their services. The main job that people appreciated was when their mum cleaned for them, with 83% saying that they thought this. 4 in 5, 79%, of people said that they appreciated their mum cooking , whilst babysitter and taxi driver were third and fourth with 76% and 73% respectively. Here were the roles respondents most appreciated their mums fulfilling, along with the average earnings for the job: 1. Maid/Cleaner - £10,000 - £18,000 – 83% 2. Head Chef - £25,000 - £65,000 – 79% 3. Baby sitter - £10,000 - £12,000 – 76% 4. Taxi Driver - £15,000 - £30,000 – 73% 5. Banker - £16,000 - £20,000 - 68% 6. Personal shopper - £15,000 - £35,000 – 63% 7. Nurse - £20,000 - £35,000 – 55% 8. Relationship counsellor – £25,000 – £30,000 – 49% 9. Consultant - £60,000 - £150,000 – 41% 10. Driving instructor - £15,000 - £40,000 – 33% Based on these figures, HireScores.com found that on average a mother could earn from £211,000 - £435,000, which is the same salary as a company director and is actually more than the annual salary of the UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. Of the 1,457 people that HireScores.com polled, 53% said that the “mum” job that they would most like to see recruitment agencies advertise is for a ‘personal alarm clock’, whilst 1 in 3 said that they would like to see the job of “tucking you in at night” as a mainstream profession. 1 in 4 said that they would hire someone to run their bath on a daily basis if they could. Jobs such as cleaners and chefs which are often behind the scenes and faceless are the ones that people appreciate the most from their mums. She continued; “Although it would be great to have a personal alarm clock to wake you up each morning it is not something that I can see materialising anytime soon.” |
