Recruitment At Sainsbury's Sainsbury's has announced plans to take on 23 new employees following the opening of a new store in Halstead, Essex.
The supermarket chain is transferring 70 of its staff from previous site owner Somerfield to the new development and is looking to recruit workers of all levels of experience.
The store has undergone a dramatic refurbishment over the last few months and now offers 10,000 sq ft of retail space and has an improved car park, its own bakery and a number of self-scan checkouts.
Halstead mayor Councillor David Hume said: "I'm really pleased to join in the launch celebration. I've been looking forward to the opening and [I'm] delighted to welcome Sainsbury's to our town."
Meanwhile, Sainsbury's recently announced that it has plans to create more than 10,000 new jobs across the UK as part of ambitious plans to extend 50 of its most popular stores.
The £450 million expansion project is will take place over the next few years, however, the company is already looking to decide which sites warrant expansion. Source: jobsnewswire.com
