I would be interested in knowing how recruitment consultants recruit for thier own vacancies.  Do they use other recruiters or do it themselve or what?

It is probably a bit like HR - enormous pressure to make a good hire, and a feeling that you should be able to do it without help!

That's a great question  Grin

I know marketing companies go through much the same thing - sometimes you need to take a dose of your own medicine, but recently I've started outsourcing some of my own marketing - simply to get some fresh perspectives and iodeas

If that held true in recruitment there would certainly be an advantage of using another firm to do the job

Good question.

We are currently recruiting consultants and are finding it a bit of a struggle to get the quality we are looking for.
A lot of consultants go to Rec2Rec agencies as they would have a variety of jobs, some prefer this method rather than applying to companies direct.

One Rec2Rec agency wanted to charge us 25% fee, they are overpriced in my opinion.

For me it depends on the position I need to fill and the companies that I work with. Some of the companies say it is ok for me to get additional resources involved and someone they are not so easily amused but in either case we get the jobs filled in a timely manner and with the right candidate for the job.

We place candidates into the smallest startup, to the largest recruitment conglomerate.   We find they look for recent job stability, evidence of billing, and relevent experience.

Rec2recs are an additional resource which make sure that available candidates are aware of specific vacancies.  There are thousands of agencies out there.  Even some really large ones are unknown to our candidates.

Our industry analysis is that 20% is the norm, upto 33% happens sometimes.

Recruitment can be done online, which can be a cheaper way of recruiting, it is lower cost than some other mediums.  It also helps as you can have software installed which sorts applicant information for you, rather than manually sorting paper applications.

Hi my name's Robin welcome to the forums here at HireScores.com. Is your website listed in our recruiter or job board directory? If you'd like any help with getting it listed please do ask. Again welcome to the forums.

Recruiters do recruit professionals for their own vacancies. They themselves are experts in term of recruiting and thus know people know the same skills they possessed.

I expect the first thing they do is post a few non existent jobs on a job board and collect a few CV's.  Then thye telephone their mates and get them an interview!
