The other afternoon I was left a message saying that an interview had been arranged by an agency with an employer for the next morning.
Obviously it was far too short notice.

What do these people, both employers and agencies think those of us who are not currently working are actually doing?

Waiting by the telephone for the time when they will deem to ring us with news of an application made over ten days ago, resulting from an original one with the SAME EMPLOYER for a more senior over two months ago which came to nothing!

We are not all on hooks in a cupboard ready to be brought out dusted down at short notice and sent off for interviews.

On investigation this was a panic appointment with a regional office of a plc subsidiary that is clearly in trouble.
The agency is not that much better, just four vacancies nationwide on its website the newest being JUNE 2011.
A couple of "kids" setting up on their own after working for a bigger brand name agency.
