UK worker confidence in landing a new role has increased, according to research from recruitment giant Randstad.

The research shows compared with the rest of the world, UK worker confidence in finding a new position within six months has risen by the greatest amount in the last quarter, up 8%, to 64% of all employees surveyed.

Elsewhere the survey also shows just 7% of UK employers had conducted an assessment of how they will be affected by the impact of the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) by Q1 this year.

Mark Bull, chief executive of Randstad UK, says: “Many employees are also starting to flex their new-found confidence by securing employment elsewhere, leading to skills gap issues which many recovering organisations can ill afford.

“Tackling the challenges while moving quickly to capitalise on the opportunities will ensure HR departments help organisations prepare for the future, while cementing their own strategic standing.”

Well I've now been out of work around two and a half months and I allegedly have a job via an agency but am waiting on a start date still. I certainly hope I wont be waiting six months because benefit stops at that point.

I also can't wait for the AWD to be implemented as if I do end up working for an agency at least I'll get the same rights as permanent staff where I'll be based. That's clearly a great thing that Labour did.

I wouldn't trust a report by an agency that basically says: Yay, agencies are working!

It seems the questions were asked to employees.

Don't believe a word!  There are NO JOBS around.

I am not even getting junk  emails now and certainly the job boards are more empty than they were in the South.

Good luck Robin at least you are getting benefits.  I have too much savings to qualify and resigned so I don't even get JSA for what that is worth!

Thanks.

I only get benefits for six months but I'll have a job before they run out.

I must have!

I'm currently waiting on a starting date for a job I allegedly have for E-ON via Manpower. They've been really great.
