I had a situation at work where an employee was told the company was being restructured and her job was no longer available.  She was instructed to return to her office and start cleaning out her desk. When she was finished, a staff member from the security office walked her out of the building.  I thought this was very degrading and I felt extremely bad for the person.  How could a company do this to an employee who has devoted their time and energy into running a company?  Shouldn't there have been a better way to handle this?  Have you ever experienced this where you work?
