Online is the only place these days.  It is so easy to get the "vacancies" posted for minimal cost.

Note the " " as not many are REAL Jobs!

Local papers still good too.

Local papers sure...though mine is still full of those too good to be true sounding jobs via agencies. I have a feeling that when following them up the intention is to get you to simply register with said agency.

Agencies are ALL PARASITES feeding of the carcass of industry.  They do nothing that employers cannot do themselves if they weren't so bloody LAZY!
All employers have websites, they could advertise their own vacancies!

And don't go on about the 100's of CV's they get. 
How many so called managers waste huge amounts of time talking to agencies who call them!
They give them all one genuine vacancy and they all squabble around it like a seagull at a tip!

If employers employ people who are too lazy to do their jobs properly and recruit without using expensive agencies, unless I am a shareholder what can I do?

I imagine many employers will use the cheaper agencies because it's the cheapest option...assuming they are too lazy to recruit properly that is.

That's it, you get what you pay for.  If you go to a cheap agency they'll just send you loads of unvetted cv's to the extent that you may have just advertised directly.  When paying more you hope to get cv's put forward that have been considered for their suitability.

This talk of it being about lazy managers is bollocks, otherwise why would an employer outsource anything?  Is paying an external company to look after your IT infrastructure being lazy?  Is outsourcing marketing lazy?  It's a service that can save a hell of a lot of management time provided the service is good.

Yes, but they have different means to search. Stick to on famous job search site never help.

Understandably, because it means taking work out of one company and putting it in another, but it is what it is.

I do wish I had an unlimited budget to do everything, but I don't.

Was the second comment connected to outsourcing? Surely in cases of recruitment it costs more to outsource than do in house? Forgive me if I mis-understood you.
