Almost half (47%) of UK employees say that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an important consideration when seeking a new employer, according to a study from Badenoch & Clark.

The report also shows that most workers (83%) think their employer is not genuinely committed to CSR, while 11% claim their employer totally ignores it and 28% see it largely as box ticking.

Generation Y (workers aged between 25 and 34) consider CSR as most important.

Neil Wilson, managing director of Badenoch & Clark, says: “In an age of increasing consumer awareness, CSR is becoming a more important issue to people – particularly among the younger generation.

“CSR can help significantly with recruitment, engagement and retention of employees, which is why most large companies, and many smaller ones, claim to be firmly committed to it.”

Maybe for some this is true and this may sound pessimistic but I think most people are after as much money as they can get.

That's why the planet's in the state that it is.
