I agree on the union comment. Even though Unison were recently lying about Nick Clegg on posters in the run up to last week@s election.

Very true.

But Unions are left leaning by their very nature.

They are for the individual worker and by definition against big corporations who are usually out for what they can get.

It is about fairness. 

being treated fairly, not taking advantage because you are in a strong position.

The employment tribunal awards in some cases are way off. 
Someone in the public sector gets 200,000 for being called something sexist and someone in the private sector who is sacked because he is off work through illness gets a few thousand if they are lucky.
