Twitter started out as this "mini blog / dear diary / here is what I am doing now" thing.

How did it become the most quoted source of unverified news information?! CNN, FOX , CNBC, local news.. They all quote twitter as if it is a credible news source. Are they all smokin glue??

Hi Jakson welcome to the forums here at HireScores.com.

I'm amazed it's become so quoted so fast but I guess it's easier for a news organisation to simply see what people are tweeting about than to say "send us your texts". It's just very accessible I guess.

I think it's because it's so immediate as Robin implied. What do you mean they quote it as a credible news source? I thought they quoted it as people's opinion...I'm not sure if that's the same thing?
