Hi Ken welcome here  Smiley.

I'm not too sure about a mailing list but if you go to this page: http://www.hirescores.com/directory-of-recruitment-companies.php you can select the specific sectors and areas in which you're looking for work and find a detailed list of all recruiters listed with HireScores.com in those particular fields.

Hi Ken

Clearly this is a challenging economic climate for recruiters which probably means there will be less jobs.  But equally it also means that the good ones are doing well so this is good news.

There are two approaches you might want to consider - the first is cold calling and the second is going via an agency.

There are a number of agencies which do recruitment to recruitment work - ie find candidates for recruitment companies - they are worth you making contact with.  We have a number listed on HireScores.com.  Go here and select Recuirtment to Recruitment Agency under Agency type on the search.

The alternative is as you say, to cold call.  There are a lot of agencies around so you would do well to think about what you have to offer, why they should hire you and what sectors you would most be suited to.  Any reasonable firm will give you training. Keep a eye out on the compensation - so firms will hire freely but put people on 100% commission which can be a bit risky for you and does not incentivise them to train you.

Finally just to say, good luck
