Hi

I have a friend who had a job and then had some hard times and didn't work for three years.  He got some help from other people but now is trying to get a job.  He can't put anything on this resume for those three years.  Does anyone have any ideas on what if anything he can put or say.  Thanks

Did he do any volunteer work during that time? Even small things like being a Scoutmaster or volunteering time at an animal shelter is worthy of adding to his resume for that time frame.

Was he a stay at home parent, making sure that children got to school on time, cooking meals, cleaning house, or anything else he may have done. You can let them see that you did not just sit at home watching TV.

There are many things that you can do to write a resume with exemplary content. By completing a search through the internet you will be able to find information that will better describe the positions that you held.
