I once worked for a company and was very disappointed that I did not receive any bonuses for meeting the company goals, or extra holiday pay during Christmas.  All we got was a cup of coffee and a handshake saying, "thanks".  Maybe their too cheap, but I was hoping for something extra.  Are there a lot of companies like this?  If not, then what do they give out as bonuses?

I once worked for a place that gave their employees a turkey for Christmas and for Easter, a ham.  I have never received extra money for the holidays.  That would probably be better than food because you can spend it on anything you want. I have heard of some companies giving out $100 for every year the employee worked in the company. That can be good, especially if you've worked there for several years.  It also encourages employees to stay in the company.
