Yes, although I think most have shut down now, it got hit very early on in the crunch. Apparently most the staff didn't know it was going to close down, they turned up for work one day and it wasn't open. I remember that they also didn't get their wages for that month because the company just didn't have the money.

Wow doing a months work for free takes so dedication.

Or desperation.

The one in Nottingham closed and then re-opened as it was bailed out by HMV. I don't know how many there were and if HMV bought the lot, just a few or just the Nottingham one. I think there used to be one in Reading which is now closed.

That's terrible. Did the bosses know that they wouldn't be able to pay the wage bill that month do you know?

I think it's a very small chain now as there used to be more FOPP stores. Now as said it belongs to HMV.

I do window shop sometimes when I'm down and depressed. Shopping does remove all worries away for a while. It makes me forget and amplifies my imagination.

Me too. Though the new kind of window shopping (for me at least) is to surf through the pages of Amazon and Ebay.

Shopping with money you don't have for crap you don't really need, isn't going to cheer me up!
As far as I am concerned all the greedy shops with their 25% - 50% mark-ups can go under.
We have the internet now with the real prices of everything.

So go to Currys and buy the same thing cheaper online.
