Quite a few actually. A few years ago I was applying for jobs at my local hospital. A few of these involved no computer skills at all (portering for example) but still the only way to apply was via the NHS online system.

I suppose then. I just think it's how things are and that it doesn't count people out. Library's count out people that can't read but does that mean we shouldn't have them?

Good point but I think it's slightly different.
Somebody could say that because they don't have access to a PC or because they are not computer literate that they are unable to apply for a particular job.
I wonder what the European court would say on this?

I bet they'd say that if a person asked to apply for a job they'd have to be given a paper application form. When would that really happen in reality though? Not much.

Realistically people that aren't computer literate probably aren't going to know about jobs that can only be applied for online. Mainly cos they wont be online will they. So this is probably an imaginary problem.

Maybe. I could imagine somebody asking (in a hospital for example) if they have any cleaning or domestic jobs going and being directed to their website.

No, it's not discrimination because there is always time to learn. Operating a computer is not very hard to learn compared to personal selling which takes talent. Everyone must learn to use computers because we are now more exposed to this gadget. Computers can make our tasks much easier and convenient because of the technology called internet.

A family friend of mine is struggling with the net but most library's run free basic computer courses so I tend to agree.

I would say most of the job hunting population are web savvy. It will not be long before the entire population is.
