I found this on Total jobs today. It was first advertised on 3 June 2011 word for word!
When I applied then, I was called and given the third degree. After I refused to answer any more questions and asked about the "vacancy" he hung up the phone on me. This is a blatant expample of CV harvesting/fishing. Grosvenor Maxwell should be struck off in my opinion! I have reported the advert to total Jobs not that they will do anything (golden egg and all that!) BUT again let's face it if you can get your company to PAY for an external agency to do part of your job, who wouldnt rather be on here than doing some actual work! haha, what a totally ridiculous thing to say. Stick to the subject of the argument lad, don't attack the person. So you don't spend 20 seconds per cv, that's just an initial scan. How long do you spend on each cv on the "maybe" pile? How big is the "Maybe" pile? Lets see if your labour intensive recruitment process is cost effective Jasper. What is your criteria for the "maybe" pile? Assuring you of my benign intentions at all times J |

Yes I do!
You never used to see people under 30 in hospital dying of liver failure on the evening news. Booze should be priced like cigarettes have been, when it gets too expensive people will drink less or not at all. |

Yes they do exactly that!
So when people come on here and say that they save them time by sifting through all the CV's they forget they will get MORE CV's, as the same ones will be sent to them four or five times by all the different agencies that know about that vacancy. Are employers SO STUPID that they dont realise all another agency will do it advertise it on the same Job Board and it will be seen by the same people who responded originally. |

Oh sure twenty seconds is great...I'm sure an agency will look at it in more depth so potentially an agency is more likely to find the best candidate than even an employer! You've kinda sold me on agencies a bit with that comment Jasper .No I haven't! Agencies don't "spend more time" looking at CV's "in depth". They use key word scanning of CV's and if you haven't done EXACTLY the SAME job as that advertised in your LAST employment you are screened out, no matter how much experience you have and what you could achieve. AND............ you only look at Cv's for 20 seconds in the first instance! The pile of maybes then get looked at in more depth. It isnt rocket science! BUT again let's face it if you can get your company to PAY for an external agency to do part of your job, who wouldnt rather be on here than doing some actual work! |

I think to say that the police weren't that bothered about the riots is 100% b******s! They stood by and watched this time. Makes a change from killing someone trying to walk home by pushing them over like last time I suppose. |

I did some tests three months ago, passed and have been waiting for a starting date. Because three months had passed I just re-did them and now have an interview on Monday for a position with e-on. Apparently there are 11 positions and they will interview 40 people. Here's me hoping a few of those wont show up. I guess I have a 1 in 4 chance.
