Hi,

we are based in Ireland and have seen, as I'm sure you all have, a growing trend for companies to move away from using traditional agencies.  As this seems to be fuelled by a growing discontent surrounding the "excessive fees" (so called), we have been actively seeking ways of reducing these in order to capitalise on the business that is becoming available to a cheaper market.  With this in mind we have launched easyrecruit.ie , the premise being that because we don't do face-face interviews (all telephone screening), we can significantly reduce our staffing overheads. This along with some bulk buying on the job boards, in a buyers market, has allowed us to offer flat fees of under 1000euro.

I would be keen to know the thoughts of others on this.  Is it something that will work?  Is it a logical step for the industry?

Hi easyrecruit. I've been looking into this for quite a while and I'm not sure whether it's a short lived trend or something that will earn its place as another way of doing recruitment. I can't see it replacing traditional methods, especially with some flat fee prices more than a thousand euros and only doing telephone interviews, which isn't as effective at sorting the wheat from the chaffe.

There are some flat fee companies doing well though, with a member of Dragon's Den investing in one.

I've just joined this forum and see that this topic is quite old so apologies for ressurecting it, however I must admit that this is something that I have been thinking about a lot recently.

To be perfectly frank, in some respects I think the industry only has itself to blame. Easyrecruit, you talk about not doing face-to-face interviews as part of a "flat fee" model, but the sad fact is that many recruiters (we are not one of them) charge a percentage of salary and still dont do face-to-face interviews.

I find this particularly surprising in the sales recruitment industry where a face-to-face interview is absolutely key in identifing sales people from different market sectors.

It seems that the greedy have have ruined it for the honest many...
