Extend your reach - find candidates using online recruitment

This is number six and the final article in our series of tips to improve recruitment within your business. Work can be hard to find and there are a variety of different tools job hunters use. As a recruiter it's vital to the success of your recruitment strategy that you extend your reach and use all the methods possible to advertise vacant jobs and build your recruitment pool.  You need to access each of the different tools used by job hunters, or at least all of them used by your target job seekers.

Years ago getting job vacancies within your company onto the boards in the Job centre was probably the best and strongest way of letting people know you were looking for new staff. Of course we all know that those days are long gone thanks to the revolution of the internet and online recruitment.

The power of the internet cannot be overstated when it comes to improving recruitment procedures. Using it, you'll be able to communicate with recruitment agencies, consultants and prospective employees on a global level. You'll usually only be interested in those that can help you recruit employees locally or in a certain locality, but you might be surprised at how large an area you can (for practical purposes) recruit from. The world really is a much smaller place metaphorically speaking thanks to the net.

Jobseekers today are casting their nets much wider to look for work than ever before.  The range of candidates can be almost limitless and the range of different job boards and agencies with different specialities can become overwhelming even if you exclude those further away.
