If you have a huge amount of in-work benefits and perks to offer your workforce over and above your rivals you will rake in job applicants, but that said, of course increasing salaries will also have a huge effect on your competitiveness and attractiveness. In our earlier tip we showed an example of a London company that let Graduates know they could download music whilst at work and this helped them get ahead of the recruitment game. Small perks and quality of life benefits make a huge difference to how potential candidates view and perceive your company. You're the employer so make the money you offer work for you. Linking bonuses to performance - or even perhaps link the repayment of University fees to retention - is a great idea, as is offering shares or profit sharing to employees to incentivise them to care more about the success of the company and therefore enhance their performance. Not all of these extras need to be cash related, allowing people to wear casual clothes, flex their start times and so on, can also go a long way to helping you attract the people you need to be successful.
