Top Tips For Recruitment...Target Job Seekers

Money isn't everything

When seeking to recruiting new employees remember that money isn't the be all and end all. Job hunters are usually interested in much more than simply their salaries when looking for a new career or place of work. This is tip number two in our series of six offering top recruitment tips.

As a business or organisation looking to fill job vacancies and hire new employees remember that you can compete in many areas as well as simply the financial rewards you offer. If you have a huge amount of in-work benefits and perks to offer your workforce over and above your rivals you will rake in job applicants, but that said, of course increasing salaries will also have a huge effect on your competitiveness and attractiveness.

In our earlier tip we showed an example of a London company that let Graduates know they could download music whilst at work and this helped them get ahead of the recruitment game. Small perks and quality of life benefits make a huge difference to how potential candidates view and perceive your company.

You're the employer so make the money you offer work for you. Linking bonuses to performance - or even perhaps link the repayment of University fees to retention - is a great idea, as is offering shares or profit sharing to employees to incentivise them to care more about the success of the company and therefore enhance their performance.

Not all of these extras need to be cash related, allowing people to wear casual clothes, flex their start times and so on, can also go a long way to helping you attract the people you need to be successful.
