You wouldn't want to blow your chances of securing work and getting that job simply be failing to communicate professionalism to a recruiter or employer by wearing the wrong kinds of clothes. Job applications and the recruitment process can be arduous so do everything you can to succeed. Dressing for a job interview is important but it's not simply about impressing the interviewer with how stylish you are. It's not about labels. In fact going overboard could work against you. You want to make it easy for your potential employer to visualise you doing the job for which you're applying. Dress in the kind of clothes that you will wear when doing the job itself. Wherever possible try to fit into the work environment. Assuming you're going for an office based role of course. To err on the side of formal can never be a bad thing. In just about all cases you can't go wrong with a suit. Even if you know that the workplace has a fairly casual dress code this would still be a good idea.
