Online Recruitment Success

College and university websites

In our third tip on strengthening your recruitment practises by using online recruitment tools we look at casting as wide a net as possible to help you secure the best and strongest job applicants. All colleges and universities have websites so when recruiting aim to reach as wide an audience of potential employees as you can. This will not only help you find strong job candidates but also make sure your work will be undertaken by the best possible candidates.

When recruiting you want to cast as wide a net as possible to take advantage of every potential job candidate. All colleges and universities have a careers service, and these departments will usually have a websites which will be full of useful information and links for their students. Advertising job vacancies on these sites or in this type of medium is very likely to be cheap if not free, as a successful end result is in the interest everybody involved. In addition to this many university careers websites will accept sponsorship advertising. This could be a great way to establish a high profile amongst the students of a particular institution or organisation.

This can be very useful when seeking to recruit online if a particular university runs a specialist degree course that's relevant to your business or industry. As well as advertising on the university careers site, a good idea would be to promote your company through the message boards and discussion forums which are often made available. Most universities have dedicated job boards and it's worth asking if they would be willing to include your company's details. Also many have a mailing list that sends out notifications of recruitment opportunities to students and alumni.

It is also worth noting that there are also many dedicated job boards for students and graduates which can give you access to good quality candidates.  You can find an online job site in the HireScores.com job board directory.
