Ask For Recruitment Feedback As A Job Seeker

Seek feedback as a job applicant

This is the first of five tips for job hunters with regards to receiving feedback after the interview process whether you've been successful or not. Whether you're looking for temporary work or a permanent job, with a recruitment agency or employer seeking feedback will only help you. If you've been successful you'll be able to understand why you got the job and if unsuccessful you'll be able to take the lessons learned into your next job interview.

We all know and understand how difficult finding work can be. It can also be a depressing process when you have several interviews in a row but are not offered the job you want. The prospect of receiving feedback from an interviewer, prospective employer or recruitment agency is always a little nerve-wracking - you want to know whether your preparation has paid off and also your strengths and weaknesses - but at the same time nobody likes to be told what they have done wrong.

This process of recruitment feedback is something you'll have to get used to if you're realistic in your approach to applying for jobs and finding work. And it isn't just a formality - getting feedback from an interviewer is one of the most important sources of information you can get about your performance as a job candidate.

And if you are successful in the job this is an ideal time to know what are seen as your strengths so you can build on this and demonstrate them in the all important first weeks in a new job with a new employer.  Also identifying your areas for development is critical as well since you can start to work on improving in these areas.
